The First Annual D.R.E.A.M. Foundation’s Family Day

{Brooklyn, NY} – The First Annual D.R.E.A.M. (Developing Restoring Enriching Advancing Many) Foundation’s Family Day will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Brownsville Recreation Center (BRC).  Students, 6 – 12 years old, will receive a free backpack and schools supplies as well as enjoy free treats and games.

Our Family Day is being held in honor and memory of Mr. Gregory “Jocko” Jackson, the longtime manager of the Brownsville Recreation Center, a former professional basketball player who turned a Brooklyn recreation center into a hive of productive activity.  Mr. Jackson was a local basketball star who played briefly in the National Basketball Association before returning to his home turf, where he became known as a tireless community advocate and, unofficially, the mayor of Brownsville.
